We hope the images contained within this software are a constant reminder of the many natural wonders Alaska has to offer! This software is intended for use on Windows 95/98/ME and Macintosh PowerPC System 7.1 or greater. We recommend that you set your video display setting to 256 colors or higher (higher is better!). Installation instructions follow: Windows 95/98/ME ============== Insert the CD into the CD-Rom drive. The startup menu will automatically load with the following options: Install The Program. This selection will allow you to install the screen saver and wallpaper software to your hard drive. It will be loaded into the directory C:\Program Files\Alaska Screen Saver. A folder containing screensaver and wallpaper images will be loaded into the the directory: C:\Alaska This program automatically installs the Alaska Screen Saver as your default screen saver. You can also access the Alaska Screen Saver & Wallpaper programs from your Programs menu. Follow this path: Start...Programs...Alaska Screen Saver. Here you have several choices. To view the slide show, click on the Alaska Slide Show icon. To change the wallpaper, click on the Alaska Wallpaper icon to load the program. Select an image and click Okay. To re-install the screen saver, if you have changed to another screen saver, click Alaska Installer. If you elect to load the screen saver program only, you can add the wallpaper selections to your computer by copying the the images from the Images folder on the CD-Rom to your Windows Directory: C:\Windows. Then click Start....Settings...Control Panel...double click Display...Background...and select the wallpaper image. Browse Our Website. View Important Notes. This is a copy of this readme file. Explore CD-Rom. Here you can take a look at what's on the CD. Exit. By clicking exit, the software will not be loaded on your computer. Uninstall Program ============ An uninstall program is included. You find the uninstall program following this path: Start...Programs...Alaska Screen Saver...Uninstall. Click theUninstall icon and it will remove the screen saver and wallpaper programs from your computer. Macintosh Power PC Installation Instructions ================================ Screen Saver. This CD-Rom does not feature an auto load function for Macintosh. To load the screen saver, copy the AkMac folder to your hard drive. Locate the AkMac screen saver icon within the AkMac folder (copied to your hard drive) and copy the AkMac screen saver icon into the Control Panels folder in your System folder, restart your computer. Open the AkMac control panel in the Control Panels folder in the System folder. The AkMac Control Panel gives you the option to activate the screen saver as well as how long you want the screen saver to wait after a key was pressed or the mouse was moved. Wallpaper The CD-Rom includes an Image Folder which contains 30 jpeg images you can use as desktop wallpaper. You can do this by holding down the Control key and right clicking anywhere on the desktop. Choose the Change Desktop Background menu item. Select the image.
